This Shiny application displays forum posts and views from scienceforums.org depending on date. Also, it is possible to color the data points depending on forum category. This was best achieved by ggplot2, as its syntax based on the Grammar of Graphics is clearest among the used packages. Therefore, I will make mainly use of ggplot2 for the mini-project. Although RGL produces nice 3d plots, the benefits are often doubtful as it is not very easy to interpret 3d plots. Since I personally do not no of any plot one can create with base graphics which is not possible to generate in either lattice or ggplot2, I will not use base graphics at all. Finally, I have used the wonderful googleVis package which allows to use Googles Chart Tools for interactive graphics. Since this is an area where standard R packages are not as developed, it makes sense to use this interface because of the interactive plotting capabilities.
